RROD cannot be sent back to Microsoft for replacement.

It is not just caused by overheating.

It is real, Microsoft failed.....

Buy a PS3.

Sending the Xbox back for the RROD(or any other common issue) costs $100. They send you a refurbished one and if that one breaks you send that one in for another 100$ just to get another refurb...good luck mcclure -_-

Actually, having just dealt with this recently, it works like this. If your Xbox is under warranty, you're covered regardless. Depending on the cause of your RROD, it may be a free repair even if it is out of warranty. This is due to the class action lawsuit that was brought against Microsoft due to the faulty design of the device. My son's Xbox 360 was almost a year out of warranty when it got the RROD and this is exactly what they told me. It is strictly based on the error code. Microsoft even provides this information on the Xbox repair website when you submit an RMA request.

I agree... my next console will probably be a PS3...

The RROD on my friends console was caused by overheating, which caused the components to fry. haha. I don't need a PS3. None of my friends here have one, so I wouldn't be able to borrow any games, lol. I may get a PS3 in the future, but for now, it is the 360. I am also getting alot of camping gear and maybe a kayak, if that makes it better. :D
If only, if only, the woodpecker sighed. The bark on the tree was as soft as the sky.
